 A course of treatments is required as laser hair removal is effective on hairs in the growing stage or visible on the skin. At any one time 70% of the hairs in the skin are dormant and not visible on the surface. Therefore for maximum clearance treatments are required for each phase of hair growth.

The Candela laser we use is one of the best in the world from a global award winning manufacturer, it typically   requires less treatments than older IPL or lasers. It’s a hard question to answer generically as factor like skin colour, hair colour and hair thickness all play a part. It can be anywhere between 6 and 15 sessions. It’s uncommon for people to get good clearance at 6 treatments, it’s typically 8-10 sessions for most people. If the back Is being treated and it’s very thick and dark it will be a higher number of sessions.

Treatments are scheduled between 4 and 8 or 10  weeks apart as you wait for the next phase of hair growth to appear on the surface. The frequency of the sessions depends on the areas being treated as hair growth varies in different areas.  Facial treatments are typically every 4-6 weeks and body treatments are typically every 6-8 or even 10-12 weeks for some areas. 

Most clients find the treatments entirely  manageable as the  laser system incorporates advanced  cooling technology. The cold air technology  keeps the skin at a cooler temperature throughout the treatment which protects it.  There is a tingling/needling/snap type sensation.
